Almost Famous Theatre Company had been working tirelessly in order to put on a performance that resembled a West End Show – and they didn’t disappoint.

The production allowed the audience to step back in time to the 1950s and experience this all time classic in a new, fresh light. The excellent music played by a live band helped to compliment the original choreography that was brought enthusiastically to the stage by all members of the cast.

The vocals were professionally organised and proved the talent of the lead roles, as well as the ensemble. Jack Beaven, the Alumni Vocal Consultant, said “We’ve got an amazing show, probably the best show that I’ve seen Almost Famous do.”

Here is some footage from their rehearsals:

And here is what Almost Famous had to say before opening night:

The set was also something to brag about, but was kept as a surprise until opening night, and what a worthwhile wait it was. They ensured to meet the high standards of audience members who wanted their Grease fantasies fulfilled.

It is one thing to put on an amazing show, and another thing to raise money for a worthy cause whilst doing so.

The National Deaf Children’s Society work towards a world where barriers for deaf children are eliminated, and aim to overcome the social and educational barriers that hold deaf children back. There are more than 50,000 deaf children living in the UK and 32 million deaf children globally.

In order to support the charity in more ways than one, Almost Famous ensured that they had a BSL signer for their Saturday matinee show, allowing the performance to be accessible to those who are hard of hearing, as well as raising money at the end of each performance directly for the charity.

What a fantastic show and cause, keep your eyes peeled on Almost Famous’ socials in order to stay up to date with their upcoming performances
