Foundation 92 have announced a new programme set to launch in May, which offers people free access to one-to-one mentoring and support on a range of different topics.

The programme will offer personalised advice and guidance on topics such as digital inclusion, financial sustainability, budgeting, enterprise, general confidence building as well as mental and physical wellbeing,

Yvonne Harrison, Chair of Foundation 92, said:

“Foundation 92 is proud to be working tirelessly to support the needs of Salford.

“Football is a universal language, and using the power of football, we can offer additional support to have a positive impact on people’s lives in our community.

“Programmes like this can help us to have better connections to the people around us and a strong, more valuable presence in the community of Salford.”

What is the aim of the programme?

The programme will aim to help people in Salford who would like help with any difficulties they may be facing, whether that be with budgeting, confidence building or their physical wellbeing.

Foundation 92 stated on Salford City’s website: “The main objective of our engagement is to support people into employment, training or education.”

Foundation 92 will support individuals into both training or employment, as well as whilst they are in employment.

The programme will engage 100 people in this opportunity over the next 12 months, with referrals being made by local partners to ensure those most in need are able to access this service.

Each person on the programme will be provided with a personal progression plan which will help them to keep focus and achieve their goals.

The programme is aiming to start in May, providing coronavirus restrictions are lifted by then.

Helping the community

Foundation 92 have also been proactive with their help for hospitals in the local area since the UK lockdown on March 23.

They have donated food to Woodlands Hospital in Little Hulton, as well as supporting Salford Royal Hospital with food and visors for NHS staff.
