The Head of Foundation 92 received a double award win for his work within the Salford and Greater Manchester community.

Tom Hutton was awarded a Rising Star/Emerging Talent Award at the This is Manchester Awards. He also won the Start Up/Entrepreneurial Initiative of the Year Award at the Manchester Young Talent Awards, earlier this month.

Mr Hutton said: “I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. I recognise the importance of having a really strong team, so to be recognised personally is not actually something that has happened to me before, so I was really, really, pleasantly shocked.

“Ultimately, I was happy for both myself and the team because it shows that all the work, development, and the great relationships with we have developed within greater Manchester have been recognised.

“I’m really proud to represent Salford and Greater Manchester at the awards and it has been great to be recognised for all the hard work from the team and everything we achieve.”

Tom joined the charity in April 2020, and he started working with primary school children and individuals at risk of homelessness. Since then, they have been able to assist people throughout Greater Manchester through improving life chances with support and mentoring.

This assistance has been provided to people of all different ages from school children to adults at risk of disadvantages and inequality, aging from two to 97 year olds.

Over the course of the upcoming months, F92 are carrying out crucial work to support people with fuel poverty and financial hardship. The launch of a ‘Free Warm Up’ programme will allow people to access a free, daily warm up and meal and give a chance to access a support network whilst keeping warm.

Also, F92 will be offering money advice and guidance and help people to make sure they are accessing the right benefits.

The foundation is also launching a ‘December to Remember campaign, which aims to distribute over 4000 presents to disadvantaged children across Salford and Greater Manchester to ensure everyone celebrates the festive cheer.

The awards have celebrated the vital work F92 carry out and will continue to do so over the upcoming winter months, for the people of Salford and beyond.
