A travel grant of up to £15,000 is available for businesses, charities and education centres in Salford.

The Active Travel Community Access Grant is set to provide cargo bikes, accessible and adaptive cycle solutions, and alternative modes of transport for organisations across Salford and Greater Manchester.

Funded through the Department for Transport and Active Travel England Capability and Ambition Fund, as well as Transport for Greater Manchester, the £535k grant programme aims to improve air quality in the area.

Sole traders, co-ops, volunteer community groups, non-profits, charities, schools, further and higher education, NHS trust and GP practices are all eligible to apply for the grant.

Bidding for the grant come sin three measures, cargo cycle solutions, adaptive cycle solutions, and community cycling, walking and wheeling projects.

Application for the grant close on Friday 21 July.
