All trams between Eccles and Weaste have been cancelled for two months for major engineering work.

The work began on Saturday and is set to continue until Thursday September 21, with replacement buses stationed between the stops every 12-minutes.

The work is part of Metrolink’s planned track renewal programme, which will see 1,700 metres of worn rail replaced in an effort to increase passenger safety.

Both the MediaCityUK and Trafford Park Metrolink lines will still be operating as normal, as well as services between Weaste and the city centre.

Customer service representatives will be on hand at all affected stops and there will be temporary signage to direct passengers to the replacement bus services.
