Administrators for Wilko have confirmed that Salford’s branch of the store will close its doors for the final time next week.

The store is set to close next Wednesday (27 September), after the high street staple entered administration in August and began the closure process last week.

Administrators from PWC said that all 400 shops will be shut by early October.

The next week will also see other Wilko stores in Greater Manchester shut including Altrincham and Ashton.

Eccles’ Wilko is set to be turned into Poundland, after parent company, Pepco, bought 71 branches nationwide.
