The final stage of public consultations has been reached for a huge development project in Salford and Greater Manchester.
The project named ‘Places for Everyone‘ launched its final public consultation this Wednesday (October 11). The consultation will run for eight weeks till December 6.
Places for Everyone is a long-term development plan for nine Greater Manchester districts including Salford. The plan is set to introduce 175,000 new homes, new jobs and sustainable growth in the designated areas.
The plan also aims to maximise the use of brownfield land and urban spaces while protecting green belt land from the risk of unplanned development.
Paul Dennett, Mayor of Salford City Council said: “I’m exceptionally proud of the journey we’ve been on to reach this final consultation. Voices of our residents and partners across Greater Manchester have helped to shape the future we’re working towards.
“I want to continue to thank the Inspectors and everyone involved in this process since we began in August 2014 with a vision to ensure we work towards meeting housing need and making sure residents and families in Greater Manchester have a place to call home.”
The nine districts involved in the project include Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan.
