A new one-woman show, which explores themes of friendship and mental illness, is coming to The Kings Arms in Salford on January 30.
Dear Eliza is a short play that investigates the deterioration of a friendship under the strain of mental ill health.
23-year-old writer and performer Barbara Diesel premiered Dear Eliza at The Greater Manchester Fringe Festival in 2023. The play was shortlisted for the Best Newcomer award and has been dubbed a “hidden gem of the fringe” by Lost In Theatreland.
The play contains trigger warnings for strong language and mentions of suicide and self-harming behaviour (it is recommended 16+).
It is touring this January to February, starting at The Kings Arms in Manchester, before going to The Alma Tavern in Bristol, The Studio Below in Liverpool, The Hen & Chickens Theatre Bar in London, and finally The Sundial Theatre in Cirencester.
Tickets vary from £6-10.25 depending on the venue, with concessions available for students and OAP’s.
