A provisional trial date has been set for the two men charged with murder after a torso was found in the Kersal Dale woodland area.
The provisional trial date of March 3 next year was fixed at Manchester Crown Court this morning (April 30).
Polchowski, 68, and Majerkiewicz, 42, both of Worsley Road, appeared at Tameside Magistrates’ Court yesterday (April 29) and were charged with murder.
The defendants, who were remanded in custody today, are next due to appear in court on July 18. They are expected to be asked to enter their plea on this date in July.
The dates were fixed by Judge Nicholas Dean KC, the Honorary Recorder of Manchester.
A 67-year-old man was named this morning by police as the victim in the Kersal Dale murder investigation.
The man has been named as Stuart Everett who lived in Salford.
The formal identification process is yet to take place but DNA samples have been sent away for urgent forensic analysis, as police look to confirm the identity of the remains found.
