Salford City Lionesses ended November top of the table thanks to three wins from three in the league.
The month had started negatively with a 2-1 loss in the first round to Penrith Ladies in the League Cup.
But they recovered to secure a 3-2 win against Wigan Athletic. Two goals from Caitlin Mahaffey in the first and third minutes shot the Lionesses into a big lead and a third came from Bethany Tattersall in the 35th minute. Despite a second half fightback from Wigan Athletic, the Ammies were able to hang on to take them top of the league.
They kept the momentum going with another emphatic first half taking them to a 3-0 win over MSB Woolton. Mahaffey scored first again, this time in the 25th minute, followed by Tattersall in the 35th and Mahaffey again in the 45+1st minute.
So the Lionesses went into their big match against rivals and title contenders Ashton Ladies top of the table. Charlie Ferguson secured them a 1-0 victory to put them further ahead of their promotion rivals.
This high-scoring November takes them to 30 points, five points clear of second place Ashton Ladies.
They go into their next game away to Mossley Hill Women on December 7 hoping to extend the gap and boost hopes of promotion.
