Police are appealing for information to help trace the next of kin of a 52-year-old man with connections to Salford.
Paul Eric Halliwell passed away at his home in Assheton House tower block, in Ashton-under-Lyne on 29 June.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) believe he has connections in Salford and Bury.
The force does not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
In a social media post, a GMP spokesperson said: “Do you know the next of kin of a man from Ashton-under-Lyne?
“Paul Eric Halliwell, 52, sadly passed away at his home, Assheton House, Water Street, on 29/06/2026.
“There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. Paul is believed to have links to the #Salford and #Bury areas.
“Anyone with information about Paul’s next of kin should contact the Police Coroner’s Office on 0161 856 9290.”
Police often issue appeals like this to help trace the relatives of people who have died across the region before a cause of death is established.
Once officers have gathered the necessary details, the information is passed to the coroner’s office so a full cause of death can be determined.
