A man has appeared in court charged with a string of dangerous driving offences following a crash in Salford.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision between an e-bike and a car at Fitzwarren Street in Pendleton at around 2.15am on Monday.
Greater Manchester Police said officers found a male rider with life-threatening injuries at the scene.
He was taken to hospital.
Desmond Noonan, 40, of Kensington Drive, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, using a motor vehicle in a public place without third-party insurance, driving whilst disqualified and causing serious injury by driving whilst disqualified.
He has also been charged with failing to stop after being involved in a collision, failing to report the collision, and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of public justice.
Noonan appeared at Manchester & Salford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday and is due to appear in Manchester Crown Court on 23 September.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance.
