A Salford family is asking for donations towards a go fund me fundraiser to support their mum who has recently been diagnosed with stage four cancer

Mandy is a mum of seven, a stepmum of two as well as a beloved wife and friend.

She recently found out that she had stage 4 cancer after an initial missed diagnosis a few months prior.

It has spread to multiple different places including her cervix, kidneys, lungs and liver and she has been told that there are no options of chemo or radiotherapy available, due to the severity of the spread.

Beth Williamson, Mandy’s stepdaughter, said: “When we found out our world shattered, life as we knew it was now ruined and we are all heart broken from the news.

“We don’t ever want to imagine a life without Mandy, she doesn’t deserve this devastating experience to happen to her.”

Mandy has been described by her family and friends as someone who would instantly put anyone at ease, while still being a bubbly, crazy woman who is always giggling and making others laugh.

Beth shared how she was always destined to be a mum.

“She puts her kids first in every situation, she would walk around with no shoes on if it meant her kids had everything they wanted”, she added.

Since receiving the news of the diagnosis the family expressed how everything has changed and life has been put on halt.

Beth said: “All the family has come together spending every minute we can with Mandy.

“Nobody has left her side, the kids have been waiting on her hand and foot and my dad is constantly checking up on her.”

The family shared how the NHS has been very slow with the process and the uncertainty of what comes next is the hardest part. Mandy has been put onto a clinical trial that’s available and Beth shared how they are: “hopeful and grateful that they have this option.”

Beth has set up a go fund me so that it is possible to make memories together as a family and to try and forget for a small moment what is happening in their lives. The go fund me will help relieve financial pressures and ease some of the worries extended from the situation.

Mandy’s other daughter said: “My mum is my absolute world, my biggest supporter, my number one woman in my life and my biggest comfort.

“Watching my mum fight cancer has shown me a side of her strength that I will never stop being proud of.

“Mum I love you more than words could ever explain, and I hope one day I can make you as proud of me as I am of you.”

The family are asking for any donations the public can offer.

Beth said: “Mandy is Salford born and bred and I would hope we help our own. Cherish your health and loved ones, because you never know what is around the corner.”
