After having a successful few years on Chorlton’s trendy Beech Road, The Laundrette have decided to expand to First Street. Following restaurants such as the Tiffin room they will open this week within the £500m First Street development.

They will be offering an array of cocktails and carb-laden food such as wood-fired pizzas and mac and cheese.

You can also get your hands on sharer cocktails in their trademark miniature bathtubs. The bathtub cocktail is a mix of Portobello Road gin, violet liqueur, lemon and apple juice, maraschino foam and topped with popping candy.

Co-owner Jon Charles said: ‘’ Lots of our Chorlton customers travel some distance to visit us already so that gave us confidence our brand would work in a more central location.
We have a site in Newcastle opening in the new year but we wanted Manchester to open first as it’s close to home so we can ensure everything is perfect before moving to a city further away’’

Laundrette will also be offering a Deliveroo service where you can get their cocktails delivered to your door.

After closing their restaurant on Oldham street they have moved this week to bigger premises on the Northern Quarter’s Edge street.

V Revolution was founded by Manchester University graduate Dom Moss in 2011 as a vegan grocery store. In early 2013 he began to introduce a small menu comprising mainly vegan burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches, and having established a large fan base with locals and tourists alike, the restaurant side of the business soon took over.

The restaurant offers a wide range of vegan food made out of seitan and soy such as burgers, mac and cheese and buffalo chicken. If you have a sweet tooth plant-based treats will be on offer from Tender vegan bakery.

Alchemist- Media City.

The Manchester based cocktail bar is set to open a bar in Media city.

The venue will be located adjacent to the expansive waterfront (on the walkway between MediaCityUK and The Lowry Outlet) and will have floor to ceiling glazing (and external terrace/deck over the water) windows offering wonderful views across the whole site.

Simon Potts, managing director, The Alchemist said: “I’m delighted that The Alchemist will be opening in MediaCityUK and hugely excited to be creating a bespoke venue from the ground up which will reflect the vibrancy and innovation for which MediaCityUK has become renowned”.

The Alchemist at MediaCityUK will follow openings planned for Liverpool, Birmingham and Alderley Edge this year.

Bundobust

Indian street food and craft beer restaurant Bundobust is set to open in Piccadilly Gardens on the 14th of December.

The restaurant has had a successful few years in Leeds and has gained legions of followers.

Established in 2014 in Leeds, in a partnership between Mark Husak of Bradford’s Sparrow Bier Café and Mayur Patel, owner of Drighlington’s Prashad vegetarian restaurant – which found fame as a finalist on Gordon Ramsay’s Great British Restaurant.
