The Lowry Theatre is looking for young people aged 13-17 across Greater Manchester to be a part of a new initiative that aims to develop their leadership skills and find ways to make change through creative means.

The creative youth leadership programme will give people a chance to work with artists, activists, and other professionals and discuss issues that are important to them.

The Lowry said: “You will work together, develop leadership skills and find ways to be heard, take action and make change.

“We welcome ALL young people and we want this group to represent people from different backgrounds – including young people who experience racism, identify as working class, have disabilities, are from the LGBTQ+ community, are care experienced or are discriminated in other ways.”

The theatre are asking for people who are interested to send in a short introduction about themselves, in writing or by video or audio, by Monday 21 December 2020 to getcreative@thelowry.com.

The fortnightly sessions are free and will be online or in person on Mondays 6pm-8pm.
