Local fans will be able to attend tonight’s Whitehead Cup Final for as little as £2 as North Walkden FC Reserves go head to head with Kartel Sports’ first team.

This evening’s clash kicks off at 19:15, with it taking place at  Brookburn Road, home of West Didsbury and Chorlton AFC.

In the Whitehead Cup semi-final, North Walkden’s reserves thrashed Hillgate’s first team 4-0. Goals from Mark Trent and Aiden Hassall gave them a two goal lead at half-time. Second half strikes from Steven Binns and Karl Payne secured the convincing win.

Kartel Sports have been on a solid run of form and are unbeaten in their last five matches. In their semi-final triumph, they defeated Milton Reserves in an entertaining clash. A Benjamin Wild hat-trick helped them on their way to a 4-2 victory.

North Walkden Reserves’ form has been even better than that of their opponents. The Salford-based side has not suffered a loss since January 29th.

North Walkden Reserves may have a psychological advantage heading into tonight’s Whitehead Cup final. The last time these opponents locked horns, the Salford outfit won by an emphatic 7-0 score-line. Both Henry Gaskill and Lee Wood managed a brace on this occasion.
