LAZY Lizard, a brand new ‘Ibiza-style’ late-night bar and lounge opened the doors for their inaugural opening party with headliner and renowned DJ Erick Morillo in attendance.

The latest music venue to hit the city has taken up residence in Printworks, Manchester’s urban entertainment area. As promised, Lazy Lizard delivered an authentic slice of the Balearic isle packed with the best house DJ line-up.

Ibiza had landed in the city as the venue boasted all things Ibiza including state of the art sound system, impressive visual displays, dancers in fascinating lizard costumes on stilts and much more. The venue benefited from a two-tier layout as the upper area hosted VIP lounge complete with booths and sun chairs.

A long curving balcony looked over and on to the dance floor which proved an optional viewpoint to observe and enjoy the music.

The red carpet was out on the Lazy Lizard entrance as the hosts welcomed their all-important guests attending the party. VIP guests were treated to a whole host of alcoholic refreshments with a complimentary mini bottle of Moët on arrival. Sublime platters of Sushi were also served on the opening night.

Ample amounts of staff in Lazy Lizard polo tops and shorts attire were on hand to cater everyone’s needs as well as enjoy the music themselves.

Music was the main attraction for the venue and that is were Lazy Lizard excelled. E.M.A was first to perform featuring a Stella performance from Girl on Sax.

May Crick (Girl on Sax) said: “I felt honoured, to play sax on the same line up as legend DJ Erick Morillo was incredibly fulfilling, to help create the atmosphere that night.

“Playing sax with E.M.A and Pete Gooding really was fun. Adding sax on top of house music creates a that classic Ibiza vibe so I’m flattered to have been selected as an artist at Lazy Lizard.”

Also behind the decks on the night was Pete Gooding (Cafe Mambo), Oliver Lang (Bora Bora), and Steve Valverde who all contributed to the exceptional Ibiza sounds.

Of course, Erick Morillo’s set was the highlight of the night with the Dj doing the business and delivering the goods.

May further added: “I love spending time in Ibiza jamming on sax and I head out there every summer to perform because of the vibe out there. Lazy Lizard recreates that vibe in Manchester so it’s like heaven for me.”

A slight hiccup unfolded the smooth running night when a fire alarm activated for a small period of time causing bright lights to harper the visual display and left a lot of guests confused.

Lazy Lizard joins a host of music establishments in the city adding to its already thriving music culture. And following on from their opening night which proved a hit the music venue looks to establish themselves as the best night out in the city.

Lazy Lizard continues their opening party celebrations up to the weekend with more headliner DJs set to rock the decks in the new club including four times Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Kenny Dope.
