Boy’s body pulled out of the River Irwell

A teenage boy’s body has been recovered from the River Irwell

At around 3.30pm yesterday, police were called to reports of concern for the welfare of a teenage boy last seen in the River Irwell near to Clifton Country Park.

Emergency services attended alongside underwater search teams and sadly found the body of a boy – believed to be 14-years-old – in the water a short time later.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file has been passed to the coroner.
