Salford Red Devils centre, Dan Sarginson, has signed a two-year contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2023.

The 27-year-old impressed in his debut campaign for the Red Devils as they reached the Challenge Cup Final.

Sarginson scored three tries in 11 appearances last season and his performances were enough to gain him the Players’ Player of the Season award at the club.

New signings,  Joe Burgess, Harvey Livett and Matty Costello join with a new coaching team that includes Richard Marshall as head coach and Danny Orr as assistant.

The Red Devils are looking in good shape heading into the new season, which starts on March 11.

Speaking to the club website, Sarginson says that, with the new personnel at the team, Salford have the opportunity to build something in 2021.

“Obviously the position in the table didn’t represent our year, but I think the Challenge Cup Final and how we played in some of those games – I think we’re building something special.” He said.

“We’ve got some great players here if we can unlock their potential.”

With the Rugby League World Cup coming up in 2021, Sarginson will be looking to build on his great form last season to bolster his chances of staying in the England squad ahead of the tournament.
