Danny Orr is to be the new Salford Red Devils assistant manager alongside new head coach, Richard Marshall.
Orr had been with Castlefield Tigers’ coaching staff since his retirement in 2012 until leaving this summer for the AJ Bell Stadium.
The former Great Britain and England representative joins Marshall, who was appointed head coach earlier this month, replacing Ian Watson.
🗣️ "When I told her I was joining, she actually cried.”

Orr has a lot of family ties with Salford, and it is very much a move his mum is behind.
“When I told her I was joining Salford, she actually cried so she’s very pleased for me,” he said. “She’s always wanted me to play for them or coach them, so she’s one pleased woman at the moment.
“She’s born and bred in Salford. My dad played for Salford, I think he signed in about 1970 so they got together then.
He added: “She’s Salford mad really. She’s a big supporter has been all her life. Used to go and watch them at The Willows. Obviously, she doesn’t get to games now living back in Leeds but yeah, she’s a huge supporter.”
The coming 2021 Super League season, which Orr will join Marshall in the dugout for, will commence in March next year.
