Greater Manchester Police will today stage an event at the Lowry Theatre to brief members of the public on how it is tackling the crime that most concern members of the Salford public.

Salford residents are welcome to attend the briefing in order to get a better understanding of Operation Avro and see how the operation will benefit their community.

A briefing in Walkden Town Centre at 12:15pm will be followed by another one at The Lowry at 2:15pm.

Operation Avro is intended to be a highly visible, monthly operation that targets the crimes that the people of Greater Manchester are most concerned about.

The briefings are taking place in public to demonstrate that the police are trying to make this operation as visible to the public as they can.

The Salford branch of the Greater Manchester Police have posted lots of information about the upcoming operation.

They claim it “will actively target criminals and bring them to justice.”

GMP have urged people to register any crime-related issues that they may have.
