Salford City will host Peterborough United next Tuesday after the sides were inseparable in FA Cup first round.

The match ended goalless despite both sides having chances to win it late on, with League 1 top goal scorer Jonson Clarke-Harris firing wide and Salford’s Matty Lund glancing a free header just past the post.

The match-up was the first time in English football history the two sides had crossed paths, with the replay set to be played on the 15th of November at the Peninsular Stadium.

The sides are separated by 28 places in the football league, with The Ammies sitting in 8th in League 2 and Posh flying high in 4th in League 1.

The Ammies will be looking for the magic of the FA Cup to cause an upset under the lights next week, with a place in the second round up for grabs.

Salford City will be ball number 9 alongside Peterborough United in tonight’s second round draw.
