Salford City travel to Barrow on Saturday (21 January), after coming off a 2-0 victory over Sutton United last time out.

Two goals from Conor McAleny, who took his goal tally for the season up to six, was enough to see the Ammies defeat Sutton.

A man of the match performance from McAleny and some superb goalkeeping from Alex Cairns to keep a clean sheet earned them both a place in the League Two Team of the Week.

Unbeaten in four of their last five games, The Ammies will be optimistic coming into this game. Salford midfielder, Ethan Galbraith said: “I think we’ve been talking about the playoff positions all season.

“It will give us good momentum going into Saturday, obviously coming off the back of a win.”

Galbraith was optimistic about the team’s chances of getting into the playoffs but believes the automatic promotion places are still there for the taking.

He said: “I think playoffs are massively realistic for us. Obviously, we’re pushing for the automatics as well, as we’ve closed the gap quite a lot in recent weeks.”

Barrow come into this game off a well-earned 0-0 draw against league leaders, Leyton Orient. The Bluebirds currently sit one point off Salford in eighth and go into this game in similar form as The Ammies, being unbeaten in four out of their last five league matches.

Kickoff is at 3pm on Saturday the 21st of January at Holker Street in Barrow.
