Critically acclaimed theatre show, Ocean at the End of the Lane is set to return to The Lowry following huge demand in its four week run last December.
The three-time Olivier-nominated play is set to grace the stage at The Lowry once again, after beginning its national tour at the theatre last year.
The show is set to return to Salford for three nights in October from 4th-7th.
Starring the likes of Eastenders actress, Charlie Brooks, the show’s last stint in Salford attracted the likes of soap stars Katie McGlynn (Sinead Tinker), Alexander Mardell (Emma Brooker), and Chris Bisson (Jai Sharma) to its red carpet.
Steve Cowton, The Lowry’s Head of Theatre Operations, said: “We were absolutely blown away by the response from audiences when we presented this show at Christmas – and we’re delighted that the National Theatre have agreed to extend their tour by a week so that we can bring the show back. It means that the tour of The Ocean at the End of the Lane will begin AND end in Salford.”
Ocean at the End of the lane is adapted from graphic novelist, Neil Gaiman’s 2013 novel of the same name.
The Ocean at the End of the Lane follows the story of a man who returns to his childhood home, sparking the magic of memory and naivety.
Gaiman’s work includes that of The Sandman series, Stardust and Coraline. The Ocean at the End of the Lane was the winner of the Book of the Year at the 2013 National Book Awards and has sold more than 1.2 million copies worldwide.
The show is also set to perform in Woking, Leicester, Plymouth, Sunderland, Bath, Belfast, Dublin, Bradford, Wimbledon, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham and Cardiff.
