An under-20s LGBTQ+ youth group will run weekly meetings as a “safe space” for young people in Salford.

Salford Youth Service will host a weekly under 20s LGBTQ+ group for young people in Salford to “provide a safe space for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning aged 11 to 19”.

People attending the group will have the opportunity to “get involved with activities including trips, cooking, arts and crafts”.

In partnership with Salford Council, Salford Youth Service runs a number of groups designed to be fun, supportive and safe places where they can make friends and connect with other LGBTQ+ people.

A council spokesperson said: “The groups are a great place to explore identity and expression, learn about LGBTQ+ history and culture, have fun with games, arts, campaigns, special guests, trips and more.”
