A runner from Salford Harriers club has beaten the female record for the faster 10 mile win at a Liverpool race, only three seconds short of the previous time.

Sarah Caroll beat BTR Liverpool Skyline 10 Mile Road Race’s previous female course record, finishing in 1 hour 5 minutes and 1 second.

Before Caroll’s victory last Saturday, the record was previously set by Liverpool Harriers & AC’s Emily Gray in last year’s race.

The BTR Liverpool Skyline 10 Mile Road Race was held alongside the BTR Liverpool Skyline Half Marathon, which celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Highly regarded as one of the region’s premier road races, the event is managed and delivered by Merseyside-based independent race event organiser BTR Liverpool.

Winner of the men’s BTR Liverpool Skyline 10 Mile Road Race was Stephen Campbell from Liverpool Harriers & AC in 54 minutes 40 seconds – taking the honours for a second consecutive year.
