Irlam finish their season in the North West Counties Premier League this weekend at home to AFC Liverpool.

Irlam sit in 18th place, with nothing to play for after their safety was confirmed with the relegations of Burscough and Ashton Athletic.

They come into the clash on a hot streak, winning their last two games against Burscough and Charnock Richard.

Irlam fans will be looking to the future, after a disappointing season for the side.

They face AFC Liverpool, who are in 7th place.

Matt Potter’s side will be looking to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat last game to league champions Vauxhall Motors.

The club was founded in 2008 by Liverpool fans who had felt they had been priced out of tickets for the Premier League side.

The split happened when the Anfield side was taken over by American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

Kick off at Silver Street is at 3pm on Saturday 22 April.
