Salford City Council have released a statement regarding this year’s Bonfire Night activities.

With it coming round to that point in the year where Salford skies will be lit up with sparkling colours and sounds, the council have announced free events to attend.

The City Council are preparing two family-friendly events, scheduled at Buile Hill Park on the Saturday November 4 and Prince’s Park, Irlam event on Bonfire Night, Sunday November 5.

The festivities at Buile Hill Park will start from 4pm, with locals being offered a wide range of different activities for all ages.

    • Little Sparks display.
    • Low-level fireworks for young children.
    • The bigger firecracker display at 7:30pm.

As well as the festivities of fireworks, there will also be a lot on offer for attendees with a choice of food and drink options with a funfair onsite. There will also be live music throughout the night, with performances from –

      • Krin – a combination of African rhythms and analogue synths.
      • Alex Spencer – street smart indie-pop newcomer.
      • New York Brass Band – bringing a New Orleans style party to the event.
      • Pops Roberts – hosting & DJing through the evening.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there for Salford locals with a second event on the Sunday in Irlam for Bonfire night.

The free event gives the Salford community a chance to come together to enjoy a traditional bonfire night experience with another firework display.

Councillor Barbara Bentham, Lead Member for Environment, Neighbourhoods, Sports and Leisure said: “I’m sure residents will be looking forward to the range of traditional and new activities we have brought together this year.

“Our aim is to make sure Salford residents have a safe and fun time this bonfire night and attending one of these organised events rather that hosting their own displays in their gardens is the best way to do that.”
