Chelsea Davies, formerly Chelsea Entwistle, is overwhelmed by support after 13 brand new pieces of her work were published in the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford’s 2024 Charity calendar.

Davies celebrated the release of the special calendar with a signing at the Ceremonial Mayor’s Christmas Craft Fair in Swinton Town Hall.

“Quite a few people gave over the £20 asking price to the cause as a thank you for having every calendar page signed.

“I really do appreciate everyone who has gone out of their way to buy one of these.”

“The fact that all the money raised goes towards three Salford charities makes it even more special. All three charities do so many amazing things for the community.”

The calendar is being printed in A3, and people are being encouraged to recycle their calendar and keep the 12 A4 prints and one A3 print within.

Davies was asked to help create the calendar to celebrate the history of Salford through art and all the money raised goes towards the Ceremonial Mayor’s Charity Appeal, which supports St Ann’s Hospice, START and the Agnes Hopkins Community Centre.

Davies said: When I was originally asked to be involved in the calendar, I was over the moon.

“I absolutely love to paint, I’ve never been to art school or class in my life, so to know people are looking at and collecting my work is amazing.”

Davies was recognised as Salford precinct’s first ever artist-in-residence this year and has delved into the history of the city as she created a piece for each month of the year.

“I had so much fun going through the everything and trying to get each building or person with a connection to each month.

“The fact that all the money raised goes towards three Salford charities makes it even more special. All three charities do so many amazing things for the community.”
