A new Starbucks drive-thru is set to open at Salford Quays.
Salford City council has approved the creation of a drive-thru at Capital Quay on the former Frankie & Benny’s site, which has been vacant since 2020. The site is also adjacent to the Salford Quays tram stop.
A customer car park will also be shared with the local neighbouring pub The Matchstick Man and Shahi Masala restaurant.
A planning application from property consultancy Montagu Evans states that the area is largely vacant and subject to graffiti, adding that the addition of the Starbucks will improve the area.
Planning permission was initially granted in August 2023 for the installation of a drive thru lane and partial demolition, subject to conditions surrounding pedestrian access.
These conditions have subsequently been dropped after it was deemed unviable to safely accommodate pedestrian access from Trafford Road.
