Catalan Dragons have rekindled their interest in long term target Oli Partington from Salford Red Devils ahead of the 2025 season.

Partington had signed for Salford Red Devils back in 2022, on a two year deal and is now off-contract at the end of the season.

The forward who has made 106 Super League appearances has impressed clubs with his performances at both Salford Red Devils and current table toppers, Wigan Warriors.

Catalan Dragons have kept a keen eye on him as a replacement for their current forward Mike McMeekan, who is expected to leave at the end of the season.

Partington who is currently suffering with an ankle injury, is out of action for the club but remains a sole part of Paul Rowley’s team.

Last season, he made 20 appearances and debuted a new haircut after a hamstring and knee injury.

Currently the Salford Red Devils are sixth in the league and beat St Helens for the first time in 44 years last Friday.

With the looming threat of Partington moving, the club are believed to offer him a new contract to keep the needed forward in their squad.

The Salford Red Devils forward also had an international debut in 2019 with him playing for the England Knights against Jamaica.

Partington made an appearance at the 2020 Super League Grand Final, when he played for Wigan Warriors.

His team at the time narrowly lost to St Helens 8-4 thanks to Jack Welsby’s late try at the Kcom stadium.

Catalan Dragons have had a strong start to the season being third in the table and displaying a dominating performance against London Broncos back in February beating them 34-0.

Catalan Dragons have kept a close eye on Oli Partington and have launched a move to sign him believing he will make a great contribution to the club.
