Swinton Lions Rugby League club have been hosting sponsor networking events in attempts to bring their sponsors closer together and give back to those who help support the club throughout the season.

The club have held multiple events at different venues including their home ground Heywood Road in Sale, Salford Town Hall and are hosting another event for sponsors and charities on the 3rd of May at Heywood Road.

The aim of the networking events is to allow sponsors to connect with each other to form potential partnerships and new business opportunities through the club as the club attempt to give back to the sponsors every month through these events.

Andrew Unwin, director of the Lions, spoke about how the club “want to link everyone together in different areas” through the events that are being hosted. Andrew added how the mayor and councillors attended the event hosted at the town hall “which was really good and appreciated.”

Andrew continued speaking about how the Lions aim to build partnerships through their sponsorship events including the charities the club have partenered with including Northwest Cancer Research which has since led to funding for the Christie Cancer Hospital from another business who are partnerewd with the Lions into crucial cancer research

He added that the events were to “give our sponsors and people who were involved with the club more value from their sponsorships.”

Further events will be planned by the club with the side taking the events to different areas in a hope to spread the value of the club around Manchester.
