MediaCity’s first Irish pub is gearing up for its grand opening this August in the former Dockyard bar.
The Salmon of Knowledge plans to open on Friday August 8, and will look to create a similar atmosphere that has put the brand on the map in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.
The new venue in MediaCity is backed by the same ownership team behind the Dockyard, which after 13 years serving Salford Quays, closed on Wednesday June 4.
Joe Foster, managing director of Northern Lights Group, is the brains behind the other Salmon locations.
He said:“We’ve felt the love in the Northern Quarter, and now it’s time to bring the magic to MediaCity.
“Salford’s got soul, and we can’t wait to add to the soundtrack with great tunes, great food and, of course, great Guinness.”
The grand opening will feature a packed schedule of traditional and contemporary live acts, as well as sporting events shown on the big screen.
The first 100 pints of Guinness and 100 Spice Bags will be free to customers courtesy of food partner, The Last Stop.
Spice Bags feature skin on fries, tossed in house seasoning with buttermilk chicken tenders, fried onions and sliced chillies.
Stephen Kirk, head of asset management at MediaCity, said: “The Salmon of Knowledge is one of the many businesses joining us at MediaCity during our phase of growth and we’re particularly proud to be supporting homegrown talent, after their successful debut in the Northern Quarter.
“We are confident that the new opening will help us work towards our aim of bettering our spaces, not just for businesses, but also for our residents and visitors.”
Guests can look forward to an expanded offering of live music and sports, expertly crafted cocktails, a wide selection of Guinness, and more than 40 premium Irish whiskeys.
The Salmon of Knowledge Ava’s partnered with Irish brewery Franciscan Well to bring all four of its core beers – Shandon stout, Rebel Red, Chieftain and Well Hazy.
