A Phoenix Nights legend who has gone on to carve out a successful comedy career is set to perform a one-off work-in-progress show at Salford Lads Club.

Best known for appearing in Peter Kay’s award-winning comedy series, fictional psychic Clinton Baptiste will preview new material ahead of his 2026 Spectral Intercourse tour, which includes a stop at The Lowry Theatre.

The endearing clairvoyant, known for his bleached-blond hair and exaggerated paranormal claims, has continued to delight audiences across the country with his unfiltered humour and comedic timing.

“I’ve seen the future,” Clinton announced, “and it involves me, you, and a packed Salford Lads Club. The spirits are queuing already. In fact, one of them reckons it’ll sell out quicker than you can say ‘knocking three times on the ceiling if you want me’.”

Organisers shared the reasoning behind choosing Salford Lads Club as the venue for Baptiste’s tour warm-up:

“The choice of Salford Lads club – a landmark etched into Manchester’s cultural DNA – provides an intimate and atmospheric stage for Clinton to test the supernatural waters before his biggest tour yet.”

Leslie Holmes, Project Manager at Salford Lads Club, said: “This is a rare opportunity to see the one and only Clinton Baptiste perform in an intimate setting.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming him onto our Edwardian concert hall stage, which originally featured male voice choirs and musical hall acts. More recently, we’ve hosted Frank Sidebottom, John Shuttleworth and John Cooper Clarke, so this feels like the perfect next step!”

Tickets cost £29 and can be purchased here.
