A free Halloween party for dogs and their owners will be held in Salford this weekend.

Aptly named ‘Howl-o-ween,’ the event will take place at New Bailey on Chapel Street on Saturday 25 October where owners and their companions are encouraged to dress in spooky costumes and visit stalls set up by local businesses and brands.

The event is supporting Manchester Dogs Home, with visitors urged to leave donations of toys, food and blankets at a dedicated ‘dog food bank’ collection point.

In addition, event organisers Pup Culture have arranged for there to be an option to donate when entering the much-anticipated costume party, where prizes are handed out for the most creative pet outfits.

Pup culture is a vibrant online community for pet owners that regularly hosts in-person meetups across the North West. The group offers members the chance to socialise, share advice and celebrate their love for dogs.

Events include educational training sessions led by professional pet behaviourists, as well as fun and friendly dog shows with prizes for best in class competitors.

One of the main draws of the Salford event is the pumpkin workshop, where owners can paint and decorate their own pumpkin while their dog enjoys a puppachino.

Libby Rush, a co-founder of Pup Culture, said: “Howl-o-ween is one of our favourite events of the year. It’s the perfect place for paw-rents to connect.

“We’re working with local businesses on a dedicated dog market and hosting talks to encourage best practice in caring for dogs.

“It’s a brilliant way to bring the community together, and we can’t wait to see all the pups in their cute costumes.”
