Following the enormous success of last year, the Bridgewater Foundation’s annual toy event is back this Friday December 12.

The much-celebrated event will bring in donations from various companies and organisations across the city so that children from struggling families will have something to open on Christmas Day.

Some of the beneficiaries that will be in attendance include representatives from St Sebastian’s RC Primary School, The Friars Primary School, St Luke’s RC Primary School, St Boniface RC Primary School and Aspire Care & Support.

There will also be a line-up of sporting legends in attendance who have long been supporters of the Bridgewater Foundation and their aims. Those expected to be in attendance are former Salford City co-owner Paul Scholes, Paul Sculthorpe, Adrian Morley & Paul Wood.

The boxing world will also be represented by much-loved and respected fighters, including Michael Brodie, Matthew Hatton and Ray Hatton, whose son Ricky was a major supporter of the foundation’s work.

The attendance of these sporting figures highlights the strong connection between them and the communities of Salford. Their involvement will help raise awareness for those who are struggling at this time of year.

This year’s event is a significant year for those at the Bridgewater Foundation, as it is dedicated to Mark Mullen, the foundation’s founder and family patriarch, who recently passed away.

Mark’s lifelong commitment to community, compassion, and opportunity continues to guide the foundation’s mission. This event stands as a tribute to his legacy and the countless lives he helped support.

There will also be support services for those experiencing homelessness and domestic violence in attendance. The event will take place at the Bridgewater Foundation office, 96a Cobden St, Salford M6 6NA from 12pm until 2pm.
