Comedian, writer and television presenter Ruby Wax is set to bring her latest comedy show to The Lowry Theatre next year, following her recent appearance on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! alongside Salford’s Angry Ginge.
Ruby announced that her new performance, titled Ruby Wax: Absolutely Famous, will feature at The Lowry Theatre on Monday 6 April 2026.
Fresh from the Australian jungle, the star presenter has joked that her new comedy tour is the perfect way to “escape the bushtucker trials and head straight back on stage.”
Salford is a particularly fitting choice for a tour stop, being the home of Ruby’s fellow campmate and I’m A Celebrity champion Angry Ginge.
Putting the city in the spotlight, creating a buzz among residents eager to welcome both old-school comedy royalty and local celebrity pride.
Early reactions to the tour announcement suggest that Salford might become one of the most in-demand dates on Ruby’s schedule.
Some are even speculating that the show could sell out faster than expected, given the mix of nostalgic fans and newer audiences discovering Ruby through her reality TV appearance.
Promoters believe Ruby’s blend of candid storytelling and sharp-edged humour taps into what audiences are craving right now.
They have described her show as bold, a bit chaotic, and unafraid to poke fun at the world. Salford’s date, they predict, will be one of the tour stops where that energy really comes alive.
