A 34-storey apartment block that has reshaped the Salford skyline held a topping out ceremony to mark the completion of the buildings highest point.

Project partners and team members associated with Canadian real estate company Starlight descended on the Langworthy Road area to celebrate the last beam being placed on towering build-to-rent development Spectra.

393 rental homes will be availible when the work on the building located by Broadway and South Langworthy Road near Media City is completed.

The topping out ceremony comes days after a £23.4 million transport improvement scheme aiming to improve links between Salford Crescent railway station and Media City entered a consultation phase.

Residents who live along the 50 bus route have been urged to give their opinion on a range of mooted transport upgrades, through a survey or several drop in sessions taking place in February.

Newcomers living in the Spectra apartment block will be in prime position to take advantage of better walking and cycling routes, accessible bus stops and road adjustments set out in a council proposal.

Commuters have been asked to share their views on a £23.4 million scheme aiming to improve public transport links between Salford Crescent railway station and Media City.

“Celebrating the topping out of Spectra is a proud moment for our UK residential team,” said Jonnie Milich, Head of UK Residential, Starlight Investments.

“This development represents our continued investment in Greater Manchester’s growing rental market and commitment to creating a best-in-class residential community for future residents. We thank our partners and teams for their dedication in bringing this vision to life.”

“We are excited to celebrate this considerable milestone for the Spectra project,” said Nick Sweeney, Chief Executive Officer, X1.

“Working alongside Starlight Investments, we are incredibly proud to be delivering a well-designed, amenity-rich build-to-rent community that will contribute positively to the region’s housing landscape and long-term growth.”
