Salford RLFC are selling their kits through a locally founded delivery company in a deal that allows the club to keep all the profits, with the platform taking no commission on sales.

The phoenix club confirmed they had reached an agreement with Shocal, which will allow them to retain all of the money made on kit sales.

The club hopes that the deal with the delivery app will help them to stay within tight financial margins, with the club currently operating on a part-time basis.

At a fans forum, the club confirmed there were no short-term plans to turn professional and making this move prematurely would risk the sustainability of the club.

On the Shocal website, Salford RLFC have begun to sell replica kits, clothing and accessories ahead of the side’s opening game of the season against Oldham.

Shocal says it started helping independent shops and restaurants reach a wider customer base in Urmston in August 2019 and has since grown at a huge rate.

West Didsbury and Chorlton and Trafford FC are among Greater Manchester-based non-league football clubs selling merchandise through the site.

The decision to sell kits and merchandise through Shocal means that only tickets for the upcoming campaign will be sold on the club’s official website.

Salford RLFC’s home and away replica kits have been made availible for pre-sale on the site.
