A local academy trust with two Salford secondary schools has been shortlisted for two prestigious national awards recognising outstanding leadership and community partnerships in education.
Ellesmere Park High School in Eccles and Moorside High School in Swinton are managed by Consilium Academies, a multi-academy trust controlling eight schools in the North West.
Consilium hopes to scoop up prizes for Trust Executive Team of the Year and Civic Partnership of the Year at an awards ceremony which will be held in London later this year.
The MAT Excellence Awards, organised by MAT Excellence, celebrate the outstanding achievements and positive impact of multi-academy trusts nationwide.
Michael McCarthy, CEO of Consilium Academies, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised in these prestigious awards. These nominations celebrate the dedication of our Executive Team and the strength of our partnerships in supporting young people.”
The nomination for Trust Executive Team of the Year celebrates the collective leadership of Consilium Academies Executive Team in driving strategic improvement across all its academies.
At the core of this recognition is the team’s commitment to putting children, young people and staff at the heart of every decision. Their leadership is rooted not only in strong governance and strategic direction, but in compassion, integrity and a deep belief that people come first.
The Civic Partnership of the Year nomination recognises the Foundations for Learning Project, a partnership between Consilium Academies, Robert Bell, Principal of Consilium Evolve and the NHS. This initiative brings together education and health services to provide children and young people with the support they need to thrive academically and personally.
Mr McCarthy added: “Working together with Robert Bell and the NHS has shown what can be achieved when education and health unite for the benefit of our children and communities.
“The trust looks forward to the awards ceremony later this year, celebrating excellence in leadership and partnership across the country’s academy trusts.”
