Tram halted between Eccles and MediaCity provided by the TfGm

Salford commuters are facing disruption to their journeys as trams on a Metrolink line have been suspended to allow urgent repair work to be carried out.

Transport for Manchester (TfGM) confirmed that services on the Eccles line – which runs through Ladywell, Langworthy, Broadway, Media City, Harbour City, Broadway and Salford Quays – had been suspended until Pomona, due to a tram fault.

Passengers at Media City who can walk to the nearby Imperial War Museum tram stop can connect with tram services into the city centre and the Trafford Centre.

TfGM confirmed that bus routes 10, 30, 33, 50, 52, 53, 67, 79, 100, 248, and 249 are accepting valid tram tickets to help affected commuters complete their journeys.

A Bee Network spokesperson wrote on X: “Due to a tram fault there is currently no service between Pomona and and Eccles. Metrolink ticket acceptance on bus services: 10, 33, 50, 52, 53, 67, 79, 100, 248 and 249.

“Passengers for Media City can use the Trafford Park line and cross from Imperial War Museum.” An update on the TfGM website added: “We are sorry for the inconvenience to your journey.”
