Salford City look to extend their impressive winning run this evening, with struggling Barrow the visitors to Moor Lane tonight.

Daniel Udoh’s superb late strike secured victory over Harrogate Town on Saturday, sealing a third straight win for The Ammies following victories over Walsall and Barnet in the two prior fixtures.

Salford now sit fifth in the Sky Bet League Two table, and are eight points clear from being dragged out of the playoff spots with nine matches to play.

Karl Robinson’s side are also just four points behind Cambridge United, who occupy the last automatic promotion spot in the fourth tier.

Victory tonight against a struggling Barrow side could see Salford climb even closer to the top three.

The next three games are absolutely crucial in deciding their promotion fate, as they take on Cambridge, MK Dons and Notts County, sides that all sit above them in the league and find themselves chasing automatic promotion.

Barrow come into this fixture in poor form, without a win the league for over a month and winless on their travels in 2026, with a 1-3 win at Tranmere in December still standing as their last set of three points on the road.

Interim manager Sam Foley will be looking to cause an unlikely upset at the Peninsula Stadium tonight, with Barrow failing to beat Salford in their last 11 meetings, a run stretching back to a 3-2 win in the National League in 2018.

But a Salford victory this evening under the lights would be crucial to the ongoing promotion battle, especially with three massive six pointers coming up in league action.

The Ammies are definitely the favourites, but as this league has already shown this season, there can be many unexpected twists and turns.
