A partial closure order has been issued at a Salford property following repeated reports of “significant” anti-social behaviour and disorder affecting nearby residents.
The Little Hulton and Walkden neighbourhood police team, with support from social housing provider ForHousing, secured the three-month order for an address on Springside Avenue in Walkden.
The order prohibits anyone other than the occupant, their next of kin and professional workers acting in an official capacity from entering or staying at the property for three months.
Police can arrest any other person found inside the address.
Salford police said that the property had become a “source of ongoing community concerns” because it attracted numerous unwanted visitors, including drug users and individuals involved in violent behaviour.
“The impact on neighbouring residents has been considerable, and positive action has now been taken to address these issues,” a spokesperson for the force said.
“The order is currently in place for three months and will be reviewed closer to the expiry date, with consideration being given to an extension if necessary.”
The spokesperson added: “This result demonstrates the continued commitment of Greater Manchester Police and ForHousing to tackling anti-social behaviour and protecting our communities. We would like to thank local residents who have continued to report issues and provide information.”
