A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 30s was found dead in Salford.

Greater Manchester Police officers were called out to reports of a disturbance on Kempster Gardens, Broughton, at 5.19am on Wednesday 12 August.

Emergency services attended and a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police officers arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of murder.

He remains in police custody for questioning.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Jen Tattersall, from GMP’s Serious Crime Division, said: “We understand this will be a shock to the community after a man has sadly lost his life in the early hours of this morning. Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.

“We have arrested a man on suspicion of murder, and he remains in police custody. We are not looking for any further suspects and believe this was an isolated incident with no wider threat to the community.

“Investigators are working around the clock to establish the circumstances which lead to this incident.
