The ‘Stroll for Salford’ will be returning for its second time on September 19.The six-mile-stroll will begin at the Salford Civic Centre in Swinton, before concluding at the AIG Stadium, located on Moor Lane.

The event is a journey across the city to celebrate the centenary of Salford, and to raise funds for the Salford City FC Foundation. Each walker is asked to pledge £100 minimum for the charity.

Along the walker’s journey, several key landmarks will be visited, including a stop at one of the city’s classic Café’s- The Old Fire station.

In a bid to bring the club closer to its original rules and away from its recent ties to Manchester United, the Ammies have reverted back to their original colour of Tangerine for their home strip and club branding.

Since 2014, the club had previously played in Red, which coincided with the takeover from the famed ‘Class of 92’.The club have since unveiled a new logo.

The Salford City FC Foundation’s new branding.

This season marks the eighth consecutive campaign for Salford in League Two. The club’s owners, Project 92 Limited, led by Gary Neville and Sir David Beckham.

The two celebs have invested on the field with big name signings for the level and a new head coach.

This year, the Ammies will be looking to achieve promotion and celebrate the centenary year in style.

James Hill, Head of communications and Partnerships at the Salford City FC Foundation, says the event is a chance to raise funds, support the charity and attend the game in a less conventional way.

The first Stroll for Salford took place October 4 2025. Walkers were joined by Manchester United legend Paul Scholes along the way, despite the rainy conditions, walkers were not deterred.

James said: “We had a few problems with the weather last year, we were walking through a storm, but it didn’t stop the spirit of the fans.”

The Salford City FC Foundation was founded in 2018, it operates as the official charity of Salford City FC, providing vital work across the community to connect the club and the city, as well as improving lives across the area.

For James, the work carried out by the foundation is incredibly important, acting as a bridge between the club and the community.

“It’s vital. There is only so much you can do on the pitch. It’s important for the football club to show that they are a pillar of the community and that the fans are connected to that football club.

“Salford is a special area and the people are very proud to be Salfordian, to be connected to the football club is really important to the fans and to the club”, he added.

This year promises to be an exciting season for the club. Investment into the playing staff, alongside the appointment of new manager, Peter Cklamovski, means that promotion is the aim for the Ammies. Thus, the AIG Stadium encapsulates a worthwhile way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

It’s not too late to sign up for the walk, all information can be found on the Salford City FC Foundation website here.
