DRAKE returned to Leeds on his Boy Meets World tour with a sensational performance at the First Direct Arena.

The Canadian artist Drake has been on the music scene since 2006, but it was the release of his album ‘Take Care’ that propelled him to super stardom.

For the UK leg of his “Boy Meets World” tour, Drake was supported by DVSN and Young Thug.

The crowd didn’t really react much to last years OVO-Sound signees,DVSN. In fact, it seemed the r&b duo didn’t really fit the scene of a Drake concert as they had a more lyrical sound.

Young Thug was the last of the support acts. The unconventional rapper covered songs such as Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean,  which the crowd really reacted to, as well as playing tracks from “JEFFREY” and his “Slime Season” series.

At last, Drake appeared on stage. Giant coloured balls lowered to near the floor, smoke came out and he rose from the floor wearing a Stone Island t-shirt and combat pants.

He played a couple of songs from his newest album, VIEWS, but he did songs from older albums that got the whole audience singing along too.

From Jumpman to Hotline Bling the crown was ecstatic with every song he played.

There was times where the singer would be getting to the end of the song and would change it up with an ‘sexy’ RnB piano sound behind it which brought the crowd down but then jokingly complained to the pianist saying “they came to get tuned up whats with the sexy RnB vibe?”

The light up balls were one of the main props in the performance, changing colours throughout and moving around in different sequences.

Halfway through a white cluster of fabric was brought up from the stage and to the roof. As the smoke got thicker this fabric started getting blown up and ended up as a huge ball.

Then there were images projected on to the ball to represent the moon and the sun, which Drake then revolved the rest of his show around.

At the end of the show the rapper began talking about his life and how he feels so blessed and doesn’t understand what he has done to have such a committed following of fans.

Just before he’s about to go off stage he announces that he’s working on a “new project,” known as “More Life,” which got a huge reaction from the excitable crowd and was a perfect way to finish.
