Food traders are pitching up at The Splat as part of a new project by MediaCityUK.

The new project which features different food traders every week, will bring a new food option to those that live, work and play at MCUK.

Martha Moore, Coordinator for MCUK is excited about the project: “There are so many amazingly talented street food traders in our area that we want to celebrate, give a platform to, and have some fun with!

“We’re in talks with some super exciting vendors, so watch this space! We want to get as varied an offering as possible, and make sure we’re catering to our vegan MediaCityUK-dwellers as much as we can as well.”

Who’s there? 18th-22nd September 2017

The Hip Hop Chip Shop – resident vendors

Oh My Glaze – wraps/fries

The Farmer’s Wife – organic, locally sourced and free range meat: bangers & mash/ steak sandwiches/ hotdogs etc.

Bon Street Food – Afro-Caribbean infused British classics – burgers/ wings/ fries etc.

El Marchador Tacos – 100% plant-based and gluten-free Mexican food.

The project also hope to create a bit of fun and entertainment every Friday evening, which will include pop-up bars and DJs.

The first of these evenings will be 13 October 2017 as Seven Bro7hers Brewery will be coming down to do a ‘Tap Takeover’ and a DJ will be there to get people in a ‘party’ mood.

Prosecco Pot will also become a regular at these Friday evening events.

MediaCityUK are also looking for some talented student DJs and bands to help out with this project as well as getting art students to get on board to design their branding and flyers. If you’re interested in this contact Martha via email: MMoore@mediacityuk.co.uk

It’s not just food that the project will be focusing on, they also want to expand to stalls for local businesses. ASAP Succulents will be there on 29 September 2017 to sell cacti and beautiful home wares.

The Splat is situated at MediaCityUK, behind the University of Salford building and in front of The Green House.
