MANCHESTER City travel to Ukraine tonight to face tough opposition in Shakhtar Donetsk at the Stadion Metalist in their final UEFA Champions League group game.

Midfielder David Silva is expected to miss tonight’s Champions League trip to Shakhtar Donetsk through injury.

The 31-Year-Old Spaniard is also expected to be a doubt for the Manchester derby this weekend.

Silva has played a vital role in City’s dominating start to the Premier League season. Having played every league game this season, he has also created eight assists and scored two goals, including the winner against West Ham on Sunday.

David Silva has been an important play maker for Manchester City this season

Pep’s side have already qualified for the Last 16 of the competition as group winners after winning all five of their matches and will be hoping to complete the set tonight.

A point for Shakhtar Donetsk would allow the Russian side to join blue’s in the next round, however a defeat and a win for Napoli against pointless Feyenoord would send them into the Europa League.

Man City have won all five CL Fixtures so far.

Manager Pep Guardiola is expected to make a variety of changes, some of which are enforced.

Bernardo Silva could fill in for the injured David Silva and make a sixth start for the club after joining for £43m in the summer.

Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is suspended after three bookings in this season’s tournament.

City’s young prospects could feature in the squad for tonight’s game. Under-17 World Cup winner Phil Foden has travelled with the squad along with fellow England youth international Tosin Adarabioyo and Spanish attacker Brahim Diaz.

Manchester City Vs Shakhtar Donetsk kicks off at 7:45pm and will be shown Live in the UK on BT Sport.
