National league high flyers Salford City FC will look to avoid a potential giant-killing after being drawn away to Marine in the FA Cup.

It is only the second time in history that Salford City FC has competed at the Fourth Qualifying Round stage. The previous occasion ended in success, with a 1-0 win against Southport in 2015.

The ‘Ammies’ will face the Evo-Stik Premier League side with manager Graham Alexander hoping to lead them to victory.

Speaking on TalkSPORT earlier today, he said: “It’s important to us as a club and certainly me as a manager. I’m looking forward to it.”

Currently sat at the top of the league and with a higher caliber of players at their disposal, the expectation to progress to the First Round is high.

“The expectation outside is understandable and it’s no more than what we expect inside. We’re obviously going to be favourites going into the game. But, we’ve got to perform and go into it ready to compete.”

The game is scheduled to take place on Saturday 20th October.
