Run MediaCity UK 2020 has cancelled it’s April and Mya events due to COVID-19.

An event held by RunThroughUK would invite runners of all abilities to take part in a 5K or 10K run this April and May. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, these events have been cancelled.

Run Media City issued the following statement on its website:

“It is with a heavy heart that we have had to cancel our upcoming race due to government advice and governing bodies’ guidelines regarding COVID-19.

Current cancelled race:

  • Run Media City 5k & 10k  – April 23rd 2020
  • Run Media City 5k & 10k  – May 21st 2020

If you were entered into this race, please check your emails (and junk mail).

Please email info@runmediacity.com if you have any questions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding with us during this uncertain and unprecedented time.

According to their website, the June, July and September events are currently going ahead as planned.

You can check out the June, July and September events including information on how to enter on the Run media City website here.

On the site, you can view a range of past finishing times, course maps and check out pictures to get a better idea of the event.

The event is simple, runners can collect their race pack at the collection point on the evening of the race and there is an opportunity for questions before you can drop your belongings off and join in a group warm-up before the race.

The event is run by Run Through UK, a London based running community who set up running events, training sessions and coaching. Their tagline is ‘For Runners, by runners.’

Earlier this year Head of Communications, Lucy Harfield, said: “Run Media City is an event welcoming runners of all abilities.

“Whether it is your first ever 5k or 100th 10k we’ll have a team of enthusiastic marshals to cheer you from start to finish.”

We also asked Lucy why Media City is the location for the run.

Lucy said: “Media City has a great buzz and there are plenty of landmarks to take in along the course with the added bonus of the area being flat it creates a great route for anyone wanting to run a personal best.”

Run Media city is a fantastic event open to all ages that would’ve welcomed runners of all abilities. We hope the June, July and September events can go forward as planned.
